Sales Supply Chain Manager

Summary
The Sales Supply Chain Manager is charged with working with our customer supply chain operations to create demand and reduce costs. More specifically, they will develop and implement industry best practice based supply chain policies; penetrate top customer supply chain departments and understand their strategies and measures; create supply chain offerings to best meet our customer opportunities, and increase Ghirardelli supply chain analytics.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and Implement Industry Based Supply Chain policies
Develop and implement policies covering:
· Unsalesables
· Product returns
· Unidentified and unallocated deductions
· Other
They will need to understand the industry best practices and reconcile these with our company culture and practices to develop the best policy. Lead policy implementation in conjunction with the local sales manager.
Note: Our short term focus is to get into control Ghirardelli Company Unsaleables expense by fully implementing our new policy with our top customers.
2. Customer Penetration and Development
Develop a detailed understanding of all aspects our top customer supply chain operations including strategies and measurements. This knowledge will be used to enhance our go to market plans to drive out costs. Ultimately our supply chain and customer service practices will better align with customer requirements.
3. Creating Supply Chain offerings
Based on customer penetration and knowledge, they will work with internal colleagues (logistics, Customer Service, other) to developsupply chain offers that are consistent with industry practices. These could include:
· Alternatives to 1,000 pricing
· Bracket pricing
· Customer Pick up
· Other
4. Ghirardelli Supply Chain Analytics
Develop an in depth knowledge of Ghirardelli practices including forecasting, customer service, forward warehouses, selling schedules, and more. This manager will work with Ghirardelli systems including JDE, APO, COGNOS and more. This manager will assist in driving customer profitability by creating visibility to issues and solutions and measurements to drive costs out of the business.
Skills Required
- Analytical: must be able to get to the root cause of policy and supply chain issues to drive appropriate solutions
- Strong Presence: must be able to articulate and defend our policies while with customers
- Strong interpersonal skills: Will work with many functions within Ghirardelli to be successful, including sales, customer service, operations and logistics. Must be able to penetrate customer logistics and operations departments
- Strong communication skills: Will write policies and will frequently present in front of customers.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, respond with urgency to requests and remain focused on strategic imperatives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of CPG Manufacturer Supply Chain Experience
- Work experience on the customer side of the supply chain is desired
Working Conditions
- Will travel up to 40% of the time. Will spend the bulk of travel time interacting with key customers for purpose of influencing business results.
- Office location is the Ghirardelli Corporate Office in San Leandro California
- Rare to Occasional ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel to various locations across the country or local travel to meetings
