Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
  • 6 ounce(s) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup(s) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 8 ounce(s) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • Convert to metric

Directions
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow. Combine flour, baking powder, and soda; add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Spread half of batter into a greased 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and cinnamon. Spread remaining batter over chocolate layer. Bake at 350ºF for 35 minutes or until cake begins to leave sides of pan; cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
