Summary

The Business Analyst plays a key role in providing application analysis and support to business users, and developing and implementing new applications that integrate people, processes and technologies.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Responsible as a key resource in cross-functional projects to develop and implement new applications.
  • Analyze user requirements, prepare requirements document, as-is & to-be processes and identify gaps.
  • Design processes to meet requirements, prepare functional specifications.
  • Prepare test plans, conduct testing validation, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Communicate application and project status and vision to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure delivered IT solutions meet or exceed customer’s expectations.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of application issues.
  • Lead the development of business process documentation and user training.
  • Develop analytical reports and ad-hoc reporting.

 

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience with understanding business requirements and collaborating in finding technical solutions.
  • Proficient in writing requirements document, functional specifications and preparing business process flows
  • Ability to apply analysis and creative thinking when solving problems.
  • Experience with identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Experience with reporting tools, creating ad-hoc reports, and writing SQL queries.
  • Familiar with ERP application such as JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft.
  • Familiar with Software Lifecycle Management (SDLC), Change Management, and agile methodology.
  • Experience with supply chain management (SCM) and product life cycle management (PLM).
  • Familiar with Information Technology standards and best practices such as BABOK, ITIL, CMMI, etc.
  • Ability to multitask, meets deadlines, prioritize requests, and work independently.
  • Able to communicate effectively with both business partners and IT professionals.

Education & Work Experience

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relates experience.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to travel to various locations across the country or local travel to meetings.
