Summary
The Customer Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for working with our customer supply chain team to create demand and reduce costs. In this role, the analyst will support the Customer Supply Chain Manager with data and insights that facilitate the development of industry best practice policies. A key focus will be on reducing Ghirardelli’s unsaleables expense by fully implementing our policy with top customers. To facilitate efficient management of unsaleables this individual will be responsible for tracking, reporting, identifying gaps/risks, and creating solutions for management of non-compliance.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Industry-Based Supply Chain Policies
- Analyze numerous sources of customer and 3rd party data to generate insights and recommendations to support policy implementations around:
- Unsalesables (damaged and expired product)
- Product returns
- Product shelf life
- Leverage causal data from ongoing product freshness studies to make recommendations on internal business activities and customer policies.
- Develop and publish both company-wide and customer-specific reporting on:
- Customer trade damage levels
- Customer compliance with policy
- Auditing projects with key customers
- Lead the management of delivering against the trade damages annual budget.
- Where policy related, lead resolution of unsaleables deduction disputes in collaboration with customer teams.
- Analyze numerous sources of customer and 3rd party data to generate insights and recommendations to support policy implementations around:
- Liason for QA issues in the marketplace
- Facilitate QA investigation and findings
- Work with Sales Merchandising team to execute corrective actions
- Ad hoc support of Customer Supply Chain Issues/Initiatives
- Customer facing policy implementation (i.e. Sailing Schedule Changes)
- Shelf life exception process
- Primary contact for sales interactions with Logistics/Customer Service team
- Monthly review of logistics fines
- EDI priority list
- GS1 Guidelines support / Coupon Policy support
Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Analytical: must be able to get to the root cause of policy and supply chain issues to drive appropriate solutions*
- Strong interpersonal skills: Will work with many functions within Ghirardelli to be successful, including sales, customer service, operations and logistics*
- Ability to work directly with Ghirardelli customers; must possess leadership qualities and the ability to negotiate mutually beneficial supply chain programs*
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, respond with urgency to requests and remain focused on strategic imperatives*
- Proficient in Excel, Access, and database management*
Education & Work Experience
- College Degree – B.S. Required
- Breadth and depth of supply chain experience
- Experience working with sophisticated customers with a national presence
- A minimum of 3 years in supply chain, forecasting, CPG roles
Working Conditions
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time locally and across the country*
- Rare to occasional ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds*
- Office environment, working with various computers and computer related equipment*
