The Customer Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for working with our customer supply chain team to create demand and reduce costs.  In this role, the analyst will support the Customer Supply Chain Team Leader with data and insights that facilitate the development of industry best practice policies.  A key focus will be on reducing Ghirardelli’s non trade sales costs, including unsaleables and returns by fully implementing GCC policies and driving compliance with top customers.  To facilitate efficient cost management, this individual will be responsible for tracking, reporting, identifying gaps/risks, and creating solutions for management of non-compliance.

Scope of Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Industry-Based Supply Chain Policies

    • Analyze numerous sources of customer and 3rd party data to generate insights and recommendations to support policy implementations around:
      • Unsaleables (damaged and expired product)
      • Product returns
      • Product shelf life
    • Leverage causal data to make recommendations on internal business activities and customer policies.
    • Develop and publish both company-wide and customer-specific reporting on:
      • Customer trade damage levels
      • Customer compliance with policy
      • Auditing projects with key customers
    • Lead the management of delivering against the trade damages and returns annual budgets.
    • Lead resolution of unsaleables deduction disputes in collaboration with customer teams.
  • Ad hoc support of Customer Supply Chain Issues/Initiatives
    • Support and help implement various logistics efficiency initiatives, including customer order sizes, bracket pricing, and shipping network optimization
    • Customer facing policy implementation (i.e. Sailing Schedule Changes)
    • Support and as appropriate lead various customer supply chain projects
    • Manage Shelf life and minimum order exception process
    • Primary contact for sales interactions with Logistics/Customer Service team
    • Monthly review of logistics fines
    • Help Facilitate EDI priority list
  • Liaison for QA issues in the marketplace
    • Facilitate QA investigation and findings
    • Work with Sales Merchandising team to execute corrective actions

Specific Knowledge & Skills

Analytical:  must be able to determine the root cause of policy and supply chain issues to drive appropriate solutions*

  • Strong interpersonal skills:  Will work with many functions within Ghirardelli to be successful, including sales, customer service, operations and logistics*
  • Ability to work directly with Ghirardelli customers; must possess leadership qualities and the ability to negotiate mutually beneficial supply chain programs*
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, respond with urgency to requests and remain focused on strategic imperatives*
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, and database management*

Education & Work Experience

  • College Degree – B.S. Required
  • Breadth and depth of supply chain experience highly desired
  • Experience working with sophisticated customers with a national presence
  • A minimum of 3 years in CPG (fast-moving consumer goods) roles in supply chain, forecasting, and/or logistics preferred
