Mechanic A1 Maintenance Day

Summary

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, a leading manufacturer, marketer and retailer of premium American chocolates, is seeking Maintenance Mechanics for our fast paced unionized manufacturing facility in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate would be able to do the following;

Scope of Responsibilities

• Must be available to work various shifts
• Must have troubleshooting experience
• Repair, maintain, assemble & reassemble production machinery & mechanical equipment according to operational manuals and manufacturing specifications in a fast paced environment
• Must understand and perform set-up procedure for a wide variety of different product and sizes on high speed packaging equipment

Specific Knowledge & Skills

• Must have preventative maintenance experience
• Must have 3 to 5 years experience in production maintenance
• Some welding experience desired but not required
• Knowledge of food grade safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and pass a drug test, lifting test, social security check, and felony check

Working Conditions

• Closed shop- Union Environment
• Overtime is required
• Must be able to work as a team player
